We are assembling a team of Market Abuse experts who will cover multiple aspects of an industry leading surveillance framework. This is an opportunity to join and contribute to the design, development, implementation and execution of the surveillance programme, bringing to bear the expertise you have attained during the course of your career.

Whilst the primary responsibility is conducting surveillance analysis at an expert level, responsibilities also include providing support on the implementation of surveillance systems (Trade and Comms), partnering with Advisory compliance, IT, surveillance vendors, and external consultants across a range of different projects. You will also contribute to the delivery and execution of the operating model, e.g. data quality, calibration, metrics, quality assurance, procedures etc.

This is an exciting role, offering variety and the opportunity to be part of an immersive project resulting in effective and meaningful surveillance programme.

This role sits within Market Surveillance team, which forms part of Market Conduct.

Experience Required:

  • Excellent understanding of market abuse risks, particularly in relation to Metals, and how they apply and materialise within commodity markets (physical and paper)
  • Proven experience within trade and / or communications surveillance
  • Experienced in analysing alerts and conducting risk-based, event-driven surveillance
  • Strong understanding of surveillance data requirements and interplays
  • Awareness of the elements required for a comprehensive and robust surveillance operating model
  • Confidence when interacting with traders and an ability to build and nurture constructive working relationships with business partners and in/external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the regulatory drivers for surveillance, e.g. MAR, REMIT, MiFID etc.
